Andres Lucero

Andres Lucero was born  Mar. 30, 1947, in Anton Chico, NM to the home of Rufina (Sandoval) and Andres H. Lucero, and died on the morning of Aug. 23, 2019 in Portales, NM.  Mr. Lucero began working at Eastern New Mexico University in the Maintenance Department when he was 17 years old.  He had been married to Rosalita Ulibarri Lucero for 51 years.  For enjoyment he liked to go fishing.

He is survived by his wife, Rosie; his children, Michael Lucero and wife Diana , Annette Smalls and husband Mario , Jose Lucero and Sammy Lucero; six grandchildren, Michael and Adrianna Lucero, Riko, Dominik and Miklo Smalls and Shekinah Cantwell; four great-grandchildren, Ryder and Rainey Smalls and Urijah and Cassius Lucero; a brother, Nerio Lucero; a sister, Lucy Chavez and husband Gabe, and numerous nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Virgil Lucero, a sister, Jennie Lucero and a son, Andy Lucero, Jr.
