Gerald Dennis Swanson

Graveside services for Gerald Dennis Swanson, 88, of Portales, will be held at 10:30 AM, Fri., Jan. 3, 2020 in the Portales Cemetery with Gracy Stone officiating.  Family members will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Mr. Swanson was born Nov. 25, 1931 in East Fairview, ND and died Dec. 29, 2019 in Portales, NM.  For many years he worked as a machinist.

He is survived by two step-sons, Gilbert Rivera, Jr. of Portales, and Rick Rivera of Las Cruces, NM; six step-daughters, Patricia Johnson of El SEgundo, CA, Francis Franco of Albuquerque, NM, Margaret and Russ Rugh of Portales, Gracy and David Stone of Portales, Rebecca and Max Pino of Portales and Gina Boyton of Rancho Cucamonga, CA; 22 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by both of his parents, a brother, a daughter, Mary Lou Fonseca and by his wife, Mary Rivera who died Sept. 11, 2006.
