Sylvia Cruz Carrillo

Funeral services for Sylvia Carrillo, 52, of Portales, will be held on Friday, Oct. 25, 2019 at Iglesia Evangelica de Dios en Cristo Jesus, at the corner of N. Main and Juniper in Portales with Bishop Jose Jimenez officiating.  Burial will follow in the Portales Cemetery with Christian Moscorro, Kevin Martinez, Ben Quintanilla, Ubaldo Gallegos, Pablo Hernandez and Anthony Diaz serving as pallbearers.

Sylvia Cruz Carrillo was born May 5, 1967 in Littlefield, TX to the home of Felicidad (Ornelas Urias) and Jesus Cruz Rodriguez and died Oct. 21, 2019 in Portales, NM.  Mrs Carillo grew up in the Littlefield and Maple area until her teen years when her family moved to Portales.  On Mar 24, 1984 in Farwell, TX, she was married to Ramon Carrillo.  The couple made their home in Portales where he husband is a local pastor.  She loved to sing, and was a very good cook.

She is survived by her husband, Ramon of their home; three daughters Sonia and Pablo Hernandez of Jonesboro, AR, Hermalinda and Ubaldo Gallegos of Portales and Gabriela Cruz Carrillo and Ben Quintanilla of Lubbock, TX; three grandchildren, Edwin, Angel and Hajir Gallegos; her mother, Felicidad Rodriguez of Portales; a brother, Espiririon Mascorro of Portales; two sisters, Sandra Cruz of Artesia, NM and Sally Pena of Portales; and her mother and father-in-law, Lilia and Apolonio Carrillo of Portales.  She was preceded in death by her father, Jesus Rodriguez.
