Leila Beth Hamilton, known to virtually everyone as "Beth," was born Mar. 13, 1941 in Elida to the home of Mary Bob (Smith) and Claud C. Moore, and died early on the morning of Sept. 8, 2020 in Lubbock, TX. Beth was the Salutatorian of the 1959 graduating class of Elida High School. Following high school, she worked for some time with the Bookmobile, before beginning her career with Southwest Cable Co. in Portales in 1962. She continued to work as office manager for 43 years, retiring in 2005. During that time the company made several transitions in ownership, with her finally retiring from Comcast. At the Elida Church of Christ, she was married to LaRue Hamilton in 1967.
Beth was a member of the Elida United Methodist Church. She loved sports, and hardly ever missed a game. For several years she and LaRue enjoyed square dancing, and she also liked to line dance. She and her husband also enjoyed going trout fishing at McFee Lake in Colorado. Playing cards and games of all sorts often filled her time, along with countless hours of the Hallmark Movie Channel and the Game Show Network.
She is survived by three sons, Donald Hamilton of Tucson, AZ, Olen Hamilton and his wife, Becky of Kalispell, MT, and Brett Hamilton and his fiance, Susan Hudman of Austin, TX; two daughters, Lori Ribble of Portales and Shelli Boucher and her husband, Jaime of Gilford, NH; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; a brother, Wayne Moore and his wife, Lynda of Portales; and a sister-in-law, Ruth Moore of Elida. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Joe Claud Moore, a son-in-law, Dick Ribble and by her husband, LaRue on Sept 24, 1995,
