Beverly Jean (Rogers) Stinnett

Beverly Jean (Rogers) Stinnett, 78, of Portales, was born on March 21, 1946, in Lamesa, Texas to the home of Lucille Mae (Carpenter) and Aaron Wallace Rogers, and died on September 5, 2024, in Portales, New Mexico. The family will have a private memorial service at a later date.

Beverly married James “Tommy” Stinnett on June 29, 1963 in Portales.  She was a homemaker and a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles.  She liked to go camping, fishing, playing bingo and slot machines. 

Beverly is survived by her husband Tommy of the home; three daughters, Phyllis Parks (Walter Crawford) of Portales, Sarah Knight Stinnett of Portales and Belinda Machen of Roswell; a son, James Stinnett, Jr. of Portales; a brother, Bobby Rogers; a sister, Patsy Thomas; a brother-in-law, Robert “Babe” Edwards; ten grandchildren, Bradley, Jessi, Brandie, Matthew, Nathan, Ashley, Shawna, Brian, Christopher and Derricka; fourteen great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Tina Finney in 2005, a grandson, Daniel Machen in 2017, a sister, Delores Edwards in 2023, a son-in-law, Kevin Parks in 2023 and a daughter-in-law, Mary Stinnett in 2024.
