The Rosary for Christopher Trujillo, 52, of Portales, will be recited at 9:00 A.M. Monday, November 3, 2025 at St. Helen Catholic Church. Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M. by Fr. Francisco Carbajal.
Christopher David Trujillo was born Aug. 1, 1973, in Clayton, NM to the home of Mary Erma (Cruz) and Daniel Trujillo, and died at his home in Portales on Oct. 26, 2025. He was a 1991 graduate of Clayton High School, where he had played both basketball and baseball. Following high school Chris attended a trade school in Arizona to become an electrician. When he finished his schooling, he returned to Clayton. On June 6, 1996, he was married to Marcia Espinoza. The couple had two daughters together before separating. In 2003 he moved to Portales to make his home. In the following years, he had worked at various electrical companies, including Privett, J. Q. and most recently Cirtcele.
Chris enjoyed going hunting and fishing, and playing golf. He was an avid Dallas Cowboys and Rangers fan, and enjoyed watching sporting competitions of various types. He was a member of St. Helen Catholic Church.
He is survived by his former wife, Marcia Trujillo of Clovis; two daughters, Moriah Trujillo and T. J. Farmer and Shaye Trujillo all of Clovis; a grandson, Jaxon Jett Farmer; three brothers and a sister-in-law, Danny Trujillo and John and Ginger Trujillo of Clayton, NM and Edward Trujillo of Mesa, AZ; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Dolores and Steve Gonzales of Moriarty and Loretta and Mark Funk of Clayton; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Mary and Daniel Trujillo, his mother and father-in-law, Charles and Gloria Espinoza. Also by his faithful side-kick, Rocky.
