Doris Marie (Dunsworth) Martin

A graveside service for Doris Marie Martin will be held at 10:00 A.M., on Saturday, May 22,2021, in the Portales Cemetery with Pastor Lance Herrington officiating.

Doris Marie (Dunsworth) Martin was born on April 18, 1933, in Portales, New Mexico to the home of Lydia Marguerette (Cheairs) and Benjamin Evans Dunsworth, and died on May 13, 2021 in Amarillo, Texas.   She married L. C. Martin on September 1, 1950 in Clovis, New Mexico; he preceded her in death on March 10, 1985.  Marie attended Portales High School and later received her Bachelor's Degree from West Texas State University.  She was a member of Paramount Baptist Church in Amarillo where she also taught school.

She is survived by her daughter, Susan Latham of Logan, NM and a brother, Kenneth Dunsworth of Florida.

Marie was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; two sons, Lonnie Carroll Martin and Ronald Curtis Martin; brothers, Benjamin Evans Dunsworth, Wayne Dunsworth, Eddie Dunsworth and James Melvin Dunsworth, and sisters, Dorothy Louise Hides, Juanita C. Davis, Mary Jones, Joye Latarski and Pat Yarbrough.
