Erin Ann (Orsborn) Lopez

A memorial service for Erin Ann Lopez, 46, of Portales will be held at 10:00 AM, Mon., Dec. 1, 2025 in the Wheeler Mortuary Chapel with Colin Chandler officiating.  All of her loving family have been named as honorary pallbearers

Erin was born June 24, 1979 in Libby, MT to the home of Kathy Ann (Butts) and Jimmy Dee Orsborn and passed from this life on the morning of Nov. 26, 2025 in Portales, NM.  Her early life was spent in MT, but as a teenager, she moved to Phoenix, AZ where she graduated in 1999 from Barry Goldwater High School.  She eventually moved to Raton where her parents had settled.

On April 12, 2019 in Raton, NM she was married to Peter Lopez.  In 2021 they moved to Portales, and a year later she began working as a Teacher's Aide at Lyndsey Steiner Elementary School.  She worked with the special needs children, and this was a job that she truly loved.  Erin loved to travel, even if it was only a short distance.  One of her favorite destinations was California where she enjoyed the ocean. In addition, she enjoyed painting and decorating cakes.  She and her family had attended Third and Kilgore Church of Christ.

She is survived by her husband, Peter of their home; two sons, Isaac Barnum of Las Vegas, NV, and Brandon Thompson of the home; a daughter, Zoey Thompson of Raton, NM; her mother and step-father, Kathy and Tim Holder of Huntley, MT; a brother, Ruben Holder of Danville, IN; and her Auntie and Uncle, Leslie and Robert Thompson of Raton.
