Eva A. (Turnbough) Green
Eva was born on February 9, 1933 to Evert Thomas and Francis (Elkins) Turnbough in Portales, New Mexico, and graduated from Portales High School in 1952. Eva furthered her education at Eastern New Mexico University where she received her Bachelor’s Degree in Education and soon afterwards began her career as a teacher, sharing her love of reading with many students.
Eva moved to Cedaredge, Colorado, to live with her daughter Cindy in September of 2016 and passed away on December 27, 2018 at the age of 85. At that time she was survived by her two daughters, Cindy Beard and Carol Bostelmann, five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, sister Genevia Shirley (Albert), brother Evert “Sug” Turnbough (Sue), sister-in-law Wanda Turnbough, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother. Cindy passed away on October 31, 2022.
A memorial service and inurnment will be held in Portales, New Mexico on Monday, May 15, 2023, at 10:00am for Eva and Cindy at the Portales Cemetery.
