Francisco Javier Ramirez

The Rosary for Francisco Javier Ramirez, 71, of Portales will be recited at 9:00 AM, Mon., Nov. 29, 2021 at St. Helen Catholic Church.  The Mass of the Resurrection will follow at 10:00 AM.  Burial will be in the Portales Cemetery with Juan Ramirez, Chuy Ramirez, Juan Diaz, Junior Ramirez, Jose Diaz and Jose Alvarado serving as pallbearers.

Francisco Javier Ramirez was born Oct. 22, 1950 in Tijuana, Mexico to the home of Maria Cruz Guevarra Santiago and Jose Ramirez Madrid and died Nov. 21, 2021 in Oklahoma City, OK.  Mr. Ramirez came to the Portales area in 1975, and that same year was married to Sevastina Ramirez.  He made his living working on various farms and dairies in the area, as well doing mechanic work.  He enjoyed fishing, and fighting roosters, as well as music and dancing.

He is survived by his sons, Juan Ramirez of Carrolton, TX, Francisco Ramirez, Jr. of Portales and Chuy Ramirez and his wife, Lissette of Clovis; his grandchildren Jesus, Joshua, Yessenia, Junior, Jiovan, Jazlyn, Lucio, Jr., Sebastian, Abraham and Jenesis; as well as several great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Porfiria Guevarra and Socorro Rangel both of Clovis.  He was preceded in death by his parents, several brothers and sisters, two sons, Lucio and Salvador Ramirez and by his wife, Sevastina who died June 21, 2016.
