Greg Sena

The Rosary for Greg Sena, 43, formerly of Portales will be recited at 9:00 AM, Wed., July 31, 2024 at St. Helen Catholic Church.  The Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated by Fr. Sotero Sena at 10:00 AM.  Burial will be in the Portales Cemetery with Dwayne Garcia, Johnny Sena, Jr., Mario Sena, Peter Sena, Gene John Salaz and Benny Lucero serving as pallbearers.  Santian Sena, Nathaniel Sanchez and “Mon” Sena along with all other family members and friends will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Greg Sena found his final resting place Monday July 15, 2024. Greg was born May 12, 1981 to Johnny and Cathy Sena. As a boy Greg enjoyed riding horses taking care of his animals and spending time with all his brothers and sisters at the ranch in Ribera NM. In the early 2000’s he moved to Portales, NM to work at Montoya Masonry with his Uncle Raymond who Greg considered a “second dad.”  In addition, Greg worked his land in Ribera by cutting firewood, and selling large rocks for landscaping. 

Greg was always the life of the party, and his smile was contagious. Greg loved to make people laugh and always had the best jokes. In 2006 Greg became a proud dad and loved spending time with Anastajea, teaching her to drive or riding four wheelers on the family ranch. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. He was a one of kind dad, son, brother cousin and friend who will never be forgotten. May he rest in Peace.

Greg is survived by his daughter Anastajea Sena of Portales, his mother Cathy Sena of Ribera, NM, his girlfriend Lajalie Lucero of Ribera; and four brothers. Donald Sena of Portales, Johnny (Melissa)Sena of Portales, Peter (Rebecca) Sena of Ribera and Charles (Francesca) Sena also of Ribera; a cousin who he considered as a “brother,” Dwayne (Rachel) Garcia Sr of Portales; two sisters Missy (Mike) Ulibarri of Ribera and Barbara Sena and her companion Steve. In addition, there are numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Greg was preceded in death by his father Johnny Sena Sr who passed away in 2023.
