Helen Marie (Elliot) Moore

Graveside services for Helen Moore, 88, formerly of Portales, will be held at 11:00 AM, Sat., Oct. 2, 2021 in the Portales Cemetery.

Helen Marie Moore died while in ICU on Aug. 31, 2021, at the age of 88.  She was born Sept. 1, 1932 in Colgate, OK to Ruebin and Cora Lee (Smith) Elliott.  On Sept. 17, 1953 in Portales, NM she was married to Horace Dean Moore.  Helen worked in retail at a number of local businesses including a furniture store, Borden's Peanut, J. C. Penny's, a stamp redemption store, and Gerry's Gift Box.

She was an avid bowler, racking up many trophies and awards with her passion for the pins.  Countless hours were spent holding a fishing rod to the detriment of many, many fish.  She was a member of the Church of Christ.

Helen is preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Cora Lee (Smith) Elliott, four brothers, Buster, Burl, Herman and Carl Elliott, her husband, Dean Moore, her daughter, Deanna Linthicum, a grandson, Bryan Moore and a great-grandson, Dylan Linthicum.  She is survived by a son, Michael Moore and wife, Deborah, a son-in-law, Troies Linthicum, five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
