Idolina Hidrogo (Hidrogo) Chairez

Funeral services for Idolina Chairez, 63, of Portales, will be held at 2:00 PM, Sat., Jan. 30, 2021 at the Portales Church of God.  Burial will follow in the Portales Cemetery with Ricardo Soto, Elias Soto, Martin Torres, Armando Carbajal, Francisco Chairez and Glafiro Chairez serving as pallbearers.

Idolina Chairez was born Feb. 21, 1957 in Jaralillo Mexico to the home of Anna Maria and Arcadio Hidrogo, and died in Albuquerque on Jan. 22, 2021.  Following graduation from high school, she earned a degree in Massage Therapy.  In June of 1979, she was married to Glafiro Hidrogo.  Soon after their marriage they moved to Portales.  For several years they worked on the Brumfield Farm.  During that time they became Christians and were baptized by George Brumfield.  As long as there was a Spanish minister at the Southside Church of Christ she was very active, cooking meals and helping anyone who was in need.  Idolina developed a clientele for her massage therapy at her home.  She was a wonderful cook, and enjoyed dancing.

She is survived by Glafiro Chairez, her husband of more than 41 years; her son and daughter-in-law, Francisco and Stella Chairez of Grants, NM; three grandchildren, Ciara, Ataizha and Bree Chairez; four brothers, Jose Hidrogo of Round Lake Beach, IL, Lupe Hidrogo of Jaralillo, Mexico, Callo Hidrogo of Chicago, IL and Jaime Hidrogo of Round Lake Beach, IL; and four sisters, Tola Hidrogo of Jaralillo, Mexico, Challo Hidrogo of Fort Worth, TX, and Lecha Hidrogo and Norma Hidrogo both of Round Lake Beach, IL.  She was preceded in death by her parents, and by her 7 year old daughter, Anna Elizabeth Chairez in 1994.
