Juan Lorenzo Mendoza

The Mass of the Resurrection for Juan Mendoza, 50, of Portales, will be celebrated at 10:00 AM, Fri., Feb. 19, 2021 at St. Helen Catholic Church by Fr. Francisco Carbajal.  Burial will follow in the Portales Cemetery with Benito Mendoza, Jose Mendoza, Martin Mendoza, Carlos Trevino, Felix Mendoza and Chris Mendoza serving as pallbearers.

Juan Lorenzo Mendoza was born Dec. 1, 1970 in Big Spring, TX to the home of Alejandra L. (Mendoza) and Miguel C. Mendoza, and died at his home in Portales on Feb. 16, 2021.  He and his family moved to Portales in 1981.  Juan graduated from Portales High School in 1991.  He was a member of St. Helen Catholic Church.  Juan loved to pick on everybody, especially his nieces and nephews.  If he could get a laugh out of a situation that was always his goal.  He loved to be on Facebook and Tic Toc.

He is survived by his mother, Alejandra Mendoza of the family home; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Martin and Tonya Mendoza of Portales, Jose Alberto and Lesley Mendoza of Portales and Benito and Christina Mendoza of Clovis, NM; a daughter and son-in-law, Gloria Ann and Richard Rodriguez of Portales; also three half-brothers, Mike and Freddy Mendoza of San Angelo, TX and Richard Mendoza of Amarillo, TX; and three half-sisters, Gracie Zombia and Mary Estrada both of Dumas, TX and Vivian Martinez of Amarillo, TX; and aunt, Fernanda Garza of Sweetwater, TX;  as well as numerous nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by three half-brothers, Tommy, Tony and Victor Mendoza, a half-sister, Katie Gonzalez, an infant sister, Lisa Mendoza and by his father, Miguel Mendoza.
