Justin Chad Mullins

A family only graveside committal service will be held for Justin Chad Mullins, 44, of Elida.  Justin was born Feb. 5, 1977 in Portales to the home of Leslie (Skinner) and Jimmy D. Mullins and died Nov. 21, 2021.  He grew up on a farm near Portales.  In 2006, Justin bought his first water well drilling rig.  Over the next several years he drilled wells all around Roosevelt County.  In addition, he managed a farm in the area.  For a few months he made his home in Montana where he really enjoyed the mountains and the outdoor life.  Justin returned to Roosevelt county in 2012, and soon met Jill Dannelley.  They were married in Tinnie, NM on June 14, 2013.  For 2 ½ years they made their home in Carlsbad, where Justin continued to drill water wells.  In 2019 they moved back to Elida so they could put their sons in school in Elida.  Justin worked on different farms in the area, as well as providing licensing for some other drilling contractors.

Justin was a very good mechanic, and could fix nearly anything.  He enjoyed traveling on the trips that his wife won through her business, but his greatest enjoyment was just being at home spending time with his wife and children.

He is survived by his wife, Jill of their home; his sons, Timber Mullins and Dawson Mullins of the home, Cash Mullins and Taos Mullins both of Texas; two daughters, Keira Mullins and Trinity Mullins also of Texas; and his parents, Leslie and Jimmy Mullins of the Rogers community.
