Kerry Wayne Wallis

Graveside services for Kerry Wallis, 56, of Portales, will be at 10:00 AM, Fri., May 6, 2022 in the Portales Cemetery with Rev. Farril Defoor officiating.  Emiliy Wallis, Danny Wallis, Tom DeWitt, Adam Gutierrez and Jordan Watson will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Kerry Wayne Wallis was born June 6, 1965 in Tulsa, OK to the home of Mary Louise (Green) and Huston McCabe Wallis, Jr., and died at his home in Portales on May 2, 2022.  He was a 1984 graduate of Roswell High School.  Through the years he worked at a number of jobs before going to work as a maintenance man at Eastern New Mexico University.  Since 2005, he had worked at various odd jobs.  Following the death of his father in 2012, he cared for his mother until her death in 2018.

Kerry was a kind man that was always ready to help someone in need.  He enjoyed watching movies, especially with his daughter, Emiliy.  He also played the drums just for fun.

He is survived by his son, Kevin Wallis of Waco, TX and his daughter, Emiliy Wallis of Portales; a brother, Danny Wallis of Whitney, TX; his aunt, Bonnie Reed of Portales, and various other family members and his friends.  He was preceded in death by both of his parents, a brother, Eugene Wallis who died in 2004 and by his uncle, Jim Reed who died in 2021.
