Kim Louise Blakey peacefully entered the presence of our Heavenly Father on September 15, 2025, in Farmersville, Texas. She was born on July 24, 1957, in Albuquerque, New Mexico to the home of Thelma and Wayne McCarty.
Kim spent the majority of her life in El Paso, Texas, where she made a lasting impact on everyone she met. A proud graduate of Eastwood High School, Class of 75’ and went on to dedicate 30 years as a Service Representative for State National Company.
On April 12, 1990 she married the love of her life, Kim Wayne Blakey and together they raised 2 daughters. Kim will be remembered as a loyal and generous friend and with the purest heart. She was truly someone you could always depend on. She was someone who could laugh until they cried and was known for her sharp wit. She had the ability to brighten any room with her beautiful smile and sparkling blue eyes.
Kim was a lover of animals, especially her puppy dogs. She had a remarkable green thumb that made her garden a true reflection of her nurturing spirit. Her passion for cooking and baking resulted in some of the greatest food you will ever eat, and that brought so much joy and comfort. But above all else, Kim’s greatest pride and joy was her family. Everything she did in life was to create a loving home where she could raise her kids and later have a loving place for her grandkids to come. She adored her grandbabies beyond words.
Kim is survived in death by her mother Thelma McCarty; daughters Emily Strickland (Hunter) and Brittany West (Logan); grandchildren Kenley Strickland, Blake Strickland, Cameron West, Addison West and Lane West; Sisters Kathleen Holder (Leon) and Kelley McCammon; numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Kim Wayne Blakey, father Wayne McCarty, sister Karen McCarty Aguilar, and nephew Taylor Aguilar.
Kim’s presence will be deeply missed, but her legacy of love, laughter, and family will live on in all who knew and loved her.
