Kim Randal Widener

Funeral services for Kim Widener, 66, of Clovis, will be held at 10:00 AM, Sat., Jan 28, 2023 in the Wheeler Mortuary Chapel with Pastor Anthony Geraci officiating.  Burial will follow in the Portales Cemetery with Rick Cornelison, Rusty Cook, Timothy Krach, Lance Waetermans, Al Beaulieu and Bruce Gossett serving as pallbearers.

Kim Randal Widener was born Dec. 31, 1956, in Portales to the home of Colleen (McCain) and Jerry Max Widener and died on the morning of Jan. 24, 2023, in Lubbock, TX.  Mr Widener was a longtime resident of Clovis, and a 1974 graduate of Clovis High School.  Throughout his adult life he worked as a handyman, maintaining his family’s trailer court at the edge of Clovis, as well as taking care of rentals for Bill Case, Rusty Cook and Robert Green among others.  Kim enjoyed making wire animals and other craft projects, and making things out of wood.  He seemed to always be tinkering with something.  He was a big jokester, and could be counted on to be the life of the party.

He is survived by his daughter, Frances Taylor of Portales; his mother, Colleen Widener of Ruidoso; and two sisters, Rebecca McDaniel and Kendra Marquez both of Ruidoso.  He was preceded in death by his father, Jerry Widener on June 17, 2022.
