Marcelina (Moreno) Juarez

Graveside services for Marcelina Juarez, 74, of Portales will be held at 1:30 PM, Tues., April 14, 2020 in the Portales Cemetery with Ramon Carrillo officiating.  Javier Moreno, Gustavo Moreno, Jose Moreno, Gieovanny Beltran, Enrique Contreras and Juan Contreras will serve as pallbearers.  All visitation will be at La Iglesia Evangelica de Dios en Cristo Jesus at the corner of Juniper and N. Main in Portales.  In light of the current social distancing policy, we respectfully request that only immediate family members attend in person.  The service will be available on live stream on our website, wheelermortuary.net.

Marta Marcelina Juarez was born June 2, 1945 in Alpine, TX to the home of Micaela and Sebastian Moreno, and died April 8, 2020 in Lubbock, TX.  As a child and young adult her home was in Mexico, but she came to Portales in the 1990's, and had lived here since that time.  She was an excellent cook, and was known among family members for her Spanish Rice.  Ms Juarez enjoyed clothing, and always wanted to look her very best.  She was a wonderful housekeeper, and enjoyed decorating her home.

She is survived by her husband, Sergio Alenzuela of the home; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Javier and Alicia Moreno and Gustavo Moreno all of Portales; four daughters and two sons-in-law, Sylvia and Caesar Del La Cerda of El Paso, TX, Gloria and Enrique Contreras and Manuela Moreno all of Portales, and Marta Nevarez of Tyler, TX; 28 grandchildren and 36 great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, and three sisters, Ninfa Moreno, Josefina Rojas and Maria Moreno.
