Mark Koenigs passed away at the Coronado Care Center in Portales on June 19th, 2025 at approximately 3:00 a.m.
Mark Koenigs was born on September 26th, 1949 to Sylvester Koenigs and Doris Koenigs (Ward) in Clovis New Mexico. He taught himself to play the drums by ear at the tender age of 13. He traveled to many parts of New Mexico and Texas playing drums with local country and western bands out of Clovis at the age of 14 through his late 30’s. He also taught himself to play the piano, guitar, banjo, harmonica, steel guitar, and the organ.
He won many trophies upon winning dance competitions with his wife and dance enthusiast. He enjoyed driving semis around the entire U.S. accident free for 30 years with over 6 million accident free miles. He was a V.I.P. at numerous banquets where he received copious awards for his dedication and safety record. He loved playing golf, fishing, hunting fowl, treasure hunting, and Donald Trump since 1989. He flew gigantic Trump flags from his semi, bravely as he traveled the roads of America. His love for his country prevails. His memory will live on in all of the lives that he touched. May you find peace and your largest treasure find ever father, in Heaven. There will be a private ceremony held at a future date. He leaves behind a daughter, a brother, and a sister.
