Mary (Armstrong) Tomlinson

Graveside services for Mary Tomlinson, 75, of Portales will be held at 10:00 AM, Friday, June 17, 2022, in the Portales Cemetery with Pastor Kelly Fulfer officiating.  Chris Hutchinson and Jerry Tomlinson will be honorary pallbearers.

Mary (Armstrong) Tomlinson was born December 1, 1946, in Dimmitt, Texas, to the home of Velmar (Tims) and Henry Armstrong and died on June 10, 2022, in Portales, New Mexico.  On Nov. 26, 1962, in Muleshoe, Texas, she was married to Robert Ray Tomlinson.  They made their home in Farwell, Texas, until 1992, when she and her family moved to Portales.  When the kids were young, she stayed home and took care of them.  She worked with her family at Tomlinson Enterprises helping with much of the daily operations.  Later when the kids were older she started working at Walmart when she spent the next 16 years.  Mary and Robert attended Trinity Assembly of God Church in Portales.

She is survived by her children, Donny Tomlinson and his life partner, Linda Ferguson of Clovis, Jerry Tomlinson and his wife, Debra of California, Richard Tomlinson and his wife, Jackie of Portales and Debbie Hutchinson and her husband, Chris of Portales; seven grandchildren, Kyra Hutchinson, Haley Hutchinson, Kayleigh Tomlinson, Jessen Hutchinson, Taysley Hutchinson, Garrick Tomlinson and Colten Tomlinson, and two siblings, Donald Armstrong and Annie May.  She was preceded in death by Robert, her husband of more than 59 years; her parents, six siblings, and a daughter, Rebecca Tomlinson who died in 2008.
