Michelle Renteria

The Rosary for Michelle Renteria, 46, of Portales will be recited at 9:00 AM, Jan. 7, 2022 at St. Helen Catholic Church.  The Mass of the Resurrection will follow at 10:00 AM, with Fr. Francisco Carbajal officiating.  Burial will be in the Portales Cemetery with Felipe Alvarez, Jr.. Adrian Alvarez, Francisco Lopez, Jr., Miguel Gomez, Jr., Joel Gomez and Israel Gomez serving as pallbearers.  Andres Carbajal will serve as an honorary pallbearer.

Michelle was born Nov. 11, 1975 in Portales to Maria (Lopez) and Angel Renteria and died Dec. 31, 2021 in El Paso, TX.  She was a 1994 graduate of Broad Horizons in Portales.  Michelle worked as a caregiver to the elderly for twenty years.  Michelle was an excellent cook, and whatever she made always turned out to be delicious.  Her specialties were all sorts of Mexican dishes.  She was a very caring person, and always wanted to help those who were in need.

Michelle was a member of St. Helen Catholic Church.  She was a very devoted mother and grandmother.  She loved listening to music and dancing, as well as going to the casinos.

She is survived by a son Angel Joel Renteria; two daughters, Iesha Renteria and Areceli Renteria; three grandchildren, Gerardo Ruiz, Anahi Renteria and Angel Renteria, Jr.; her mother, Maria Lopez; a brother, Felipe Alvarez; and four sisters, Linda Alvarez, Hilda Vargas, Eva Lopez and Amy Lopez all of Portales.  She was preceded in death by her father, Angel Renteria and her daughter, Bianca Renteria.
