Opal "Lucille" (Hunt) Wells

Opal Wells was born December 21, 1939 in Melrose, NM to Alice Lorraine (Draper) and Anderson  "Duck" Hunt, and died January 30, 2024 at her home in Portales.  She was married to Charles Wells on March 9th, 2019. She had 8 siblings.  She was preceded in death by five of her brothers and sisters, as well as by her parents and two of her six children.  Mrs. Wells had numerous grandchildren and many great-grandchildren, and a few great great-grandchildren.

She worked for many years at Albertsons Super Market as a meat wrapper.  She had a colorful life and was very outspoken. She also enjoyed her banana shakes from pats twin cronies.

Those we love don't go away

They walk beside us everyday 

Unseen, unheard, but always near,

So loved, so missed, so very dear.
