Pat Jaquez was born to Rosa and Juan Montano on June 29, 1940 in Encino, New Mexico, and passed from this life on Friday evening, Oct. 4, 2024 at her home in Hobbs. She was a beloved mother and grandmother. Patricia was self-employed. She loved visiting with her family and friends and she had a HUMOROUS personality. She also enjoyed cooking, crocheting, listening to music and watching “novelas” on her free time. Her life was marked by her kindness, empathy and being able to bring joy and make those around her laugh with her joking spirit. We find solace in knowing that her spirit lives on through us.
Pat is preceded in death by her parents, brothers and sister. Her children Jerry Montańo, Esequiel Cordova Jr., Levy Cordova and Kathy Martinez, three grandsons, Manuel Jojola, Zeke Cordova, and Jose Martinez.
She is survived by 2 brothers, Seferino Montano and Rudy Montano both of Portales and 2 sisters, Rose Carter of Portales and Lucy Cansino of Lubbock, TX; her daughters Teresa Cordova and Carol and Ted Castaneda of Hobbs, 13 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren, 7 great-great-grandchildren, and her domestic partner Pedro Roman.
The family would like to thank Hospice Health Care and a special thank you to Maria Castillo.
The family would also like to ask that you take a moment to hug your loved ones. Time waits for no one.
