Pauline Gae (McBride) Seales

Funeral services for Pauline Seales, 70, of Portales, will be held at 2:30 PM, Thurs., Nov. 10, 2022 in the Wheeler Mortuary Chapel.  Burial will follow in the Portales Cemetery.

Pauline Gae (McBride) Seales, or “Nanny” as she was known to her family, was born April 14, 1952 in Clovis, NM to the home of Dortha Mae (Powers) and Walter Douglas McBride, and died on Tues. morning, Nov. 8, 2022 in Lubbock, TX.  For the first several years of her life the family moved several times, but for the majority of her life, Pauline made her home in Portales.  On Feb. 14, 1987 in Portales, she was married to Kevin Seales.  Pauline worked as a custodian and eventually became a supervisor at Eastern New Mexico University, Cannon Air Force Base, Roosevelt General Hospital and Rooney Moon Broadcasting.  Her last place of employment was as the Onsite Manager at Golden Acres.  She had been retired for the past several years.

Pauline was a “Garage Sale Guru,” as it was her favorite pastime along with watching her favorite soap opera, Bold and Beautiful.  She loved going camping at the lake and swimming.  Another favorite pastime was listening to Freddy Fender and going dancing, dancing and more dancing.  She was one of Jehovah’s Witnesses and was a member of the local Kingdom Hall.

She is survived by Kevin, her husband of 35 years of their home; a son and daughter-in-law, Douglas and Nkoshe Seales of Seguin, TX; two daughters and sons-in-law, Tina and Jose Chemali of Kansas City, MO and Tammy and Rob Corea of Riverside, CA; four grandchildren, Andrew Seales, Kierra Seales, Felipe Chemali and Jessica Chemali; a brother and sister-in-law, Stanley and Deborah McBride of Indianapolis, IN; and her three beloved dogs, Betty Boop, Gizmo and Roscoe.  She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Lee McBride.
