A celebration of life service for Rhonda Faye “Twiggy” Berry, 37, of Portales, will be held at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, December 20, 2025, in the Wheeler Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Brad Morgan officiating. All of Rhonda’s nephews will be honorary pallbearers.
Our sweet Rhonda Faye Berry we all knew has passed away on December 7, 2025, in Portales. A day we will never forget. She was born on a sunny day in San Bernardino, California, to her parents, Richard and Twyla on December 18, 1987.
Rhonda grew up with three sisters and one brother, with her being the middle child. She loved collecting knick-knacks and crocheting and thrifting. She surrounded herself with treasures and meaningful things, yet the most meaningful was her family.
Rhonda attended NMMI for three years, sculpting her in her strong will and strength. She graduated from Portales High School and had pursued a path in criminal justice in college. She was the extra comment at the end of a conversation. She always reminded us that you can’t take life so seriously by lifting us up with sarcasm when we were down. She loved with her whole heart. Her presence could never be replaced!
Rhonda was preceded in death by her mother Twyla on November 26, 2022, and her grandparents, Charles and Patricia Parks and Fred and Billy Lou Wooley. Survivors include her father, Richard Berry of Artesia; her sisters, Charity Bagby and husband Staniel of Portales, Amanda Lemus of Portales and Alyssa Johnson and husband Brennan of Sherman, Texas; her brother R.J. Berry and wife Taylor of Los Alamos; seven nephews; seven nieces; two great nieces, and one soon to be great nephew.
She will be missed and loved for eternity. We love you Rhonda!
