Robert L "Bob" Perry

Funeral services for Robert L. Perry, 86, of Portales, will be held at 10:00 AM, Tues., June 9, 2020 at Trinity Assembly of God Church with Pastor Kelly Fulfer officiating.  Burial will follow in the Portales Cemetery with Coy Dictson, Hugh Baker, Kenneth Herbert, Monte Baker, Waylon Dictson and Danny Dictson serving as pallbearers.  Due to the current restrictions on large gatherings, attendance at the church will be limited.  However, the service and committal service will be life streamed for the convenience of those who are unable to attend in person.

Robert Louis Perry, known to family and friends as "Bob," was born Mar. 22, 1934 in Fort Madison, IA to the home of Alberta Gertrude (Peckham) and James albert Perry and died June 4, 2020 in Portales.  Bob served in the US Air Force during the Vietnam War, and continued his service until his retirement.  Following his discharge he worked for a time for the railroad, before earning his plumber's license.  For many years he served the people of Portales and Roosevelt County in that capacity.  On Mar. 5, 1965 he was married to Wanda Krouse.  Through the years, he and Wanda purchased numerous houses that they then remodeled and used as rental properties.

Bob and Wanda enjoyed many happy times fishing at Conchas Lake where they owned a cabin, as well as spending time at their cabin in Ruidoso.  He was a faithful member of Trinity Assembly of God Church where he made many friends.

He is survived by his nieces, Nelda Dictson, Corina Baker, Marguerite Price, Janie Powell and a nephew, George Dancy.  He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, James Leo Perry, several nieces and nephews, his son, Ronnie Culbert who died in 1967, and by his beloved wife, Wanda, who died Feb. 14, 2009 after nearly 44 years of marriage.
