Rodney Alan Robinson, 59, of Portales, died Feb. 28, 2023 at his home. No formal services are being planned.
Rodney Alan Robinson was born July 16, 1963 in Lubbock, TX to the home of Carol Joyce (Ware) and James Alan Robinson. Rodney attended the Portales schools until he was a teenager. He graduated from Floyd High School in 1982. For a time after graduation he worked at the sale barn. Later he worked with his father leveling houses. Off and on he moved back and forth to OK where he worked at various jobs. Rodney returned to Portales about a year ago to be closer to family. He was a tenderhearted man, and was always ready to help anyone he could.
He is survived by his son, Jesse Robinson of Portales; a granddaughter, Daphne Robinson of Portales; his father, Alan Robinson of Holdenville, OK and his step-father, Hank Garcia of Portales; two brothers, Wesley Robinson of OK and Cody Garcia of Portales; and a sister, Debbie Martinez of Portales; as well as nieces and nephews and other family members. He was preceded in death by his mother, Carol, a daughter, Amber Robinson and a sister, Denene Robinson.
