Selia Hilario Rodriguez was born Jan. 6, 1941 in Big Spring, TX to the home of Pilar (Hernandez) and Jacinto Hilario, and died on the afternoon of Dec. 23, 2025 in Portales, NM.  Mrs. Rodriguez grew up in the Big Spring area, and began working in the cotton fields at a very young age.  After marrying Adolfo Rodriguez, she moved to Chowchilla, CA, where she was a homemaker and reared her children.  She was an excellent cook.  Among her family's favorites were her enchiladas, mole, tortillas, tamales, rice and beans and menudo.  For the past two years she had made her home in Portales.

She was a very generous and helpful lady, and was always ready to lend a hand to someone in need.  She enjoyed coloring and doing puzzles when she had the time.

She is survived by seven sons, Richard (Gloria) Rodriguez and Jessie Rodriguez both of Portales, and Robert Rodriguez, Tony d(Tina) Rodriguez, Daniel (Marylou) Rodriguez, Victor Rodriguez and Rudy Rodriguez all of Chowchilla, CA; two daughters, Mary (Rick) Polston and Carol (Tony) Sousa both of Chowchilla, CA; 22 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren; a brother, Lorenzo Hilario of Big Spring, TX and a sister, Margarita Salinas of Hillsboro, SC.  She was preceded in death by her parents, two sons, Ray Rodriguez, and Adolfo Rodriguez, Jr., two brothers, Robert dHilario and Elsalmo Hilario and two sisters, Concepcion Viera and Florinda Lopez.
