Sheryl Denise (Burleson) Keneipp

Sheryl Denise (Burleson) Keneipp, 77, of Portales, died on April 2, 2025, in Portales.  She was born on February 26, 1948, in Clovis, New Mexico, to Betty Joyce (Myers) and Clifford Price “C.P.” Burleson.  She graduated from the Melrose Schools and married Donald “Don” Ray Keneipp in 1966.  The had two daughters, Shantel Elser and Mechelle Bilbrey.

Sheryl worked at the Portales Schools as a Secretary and Librarian for 29 years.  She was a member of the University Baptist Church.  Her hobbies were playing golf and working with stained glass projects.

Sheryl is survived by her husband Don Keneipp; daughters, Shantel Elser & husband John and Mechelle Bilbrey and husband Clinton, and five grandchildren, Naci Durham, Kalli Bilbrey, Brenna Elser, Cayd Bilbrey and Macki Bilbrey.

She was preceded in death by her parents Clifford & Betty Burleson.

A private family service will be held at a later time.
