Cole and died on the morning of June 1, 2022 in El Paso, TX.  She grew up in Kit Carson, CO.  On Aug. 25, 1969 in Bovina, TX she was married to Harold Stanberry.  She made her home in Bovina until 1979.  Following her divorce from Mr. Stanberry, she married Orbry Gibson in Clovis on June 5, 1982.  They made their home in Winters, TX until 1993, when they moved to Portales.  For a number of years, she was employed in the kitchen at Heartland Continuing Care Center.  Later she provided home healthcare to a number of different clients until her retirement in 2020.

Mrs. Gibson was a member of the Baptist church.  Her husband did stock car racing, and she was was a great support, helping with the mechanic work and cheering him on.  On the more domestic side, she enjoyed sewing.  Mrs. Gibson's main interest was her family.  She talked to several of her children and grandchildren on a daily basis, and kept up with all of the activities and situations in their lives.  Then each morning over their coffee, she would meticulously fill her husband in on all of the latest happenings.

She is survived by her husband of almost 40 years, Orbry Gibson of the home; two sons and daughters-in-law, Buddy and Heather Gibson of Amarillo, TX and T. J. and Ashley Gibson of Darby, MT; five daughters and four sons-in-law, Twyla and Byron Smith of Jacksonville, AR, Tina and Lance Dial of Melrose, Gneveva and Carlos Gonzales of Albuquerque, Beverly Gibson of Dallas, TX and Patty and Casey Hackler of Showlow, AZ; 29 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren; and one sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Harlan Kenmore of Anthony, KS.  She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, James Cole, who died at birth and Butch Cole, a sister, Sandra Cole and a granddaughter, Dawn Garten.
