Tracy Wymore Obituary

Tracy “Mark” Wymore was born on August 30, 1960, in National City, California, to the home of Virginia Lee (McKelvey) and Edward James Wymore. He died at home in Clovis, NM, on March 31, 2021, at the age of 60 from issues related to COVID-19.

After graduating high school in Morning Sun, Iowa he joined the United States Air Force and served in the Supply career field for twenty-three years. Early in his career, one of his most significant contributions was maintaining stock effectiveness on critical production assets required in support of Operation Desert Shield/Storm. He deployed several times during his career including to Saudi Arabia, just days after the bombing of Kobar Towers. In August of 2000 while on deployment he received the “Chief’s Choice” award for teamwork and improving both morale and quality of life for more than 800 deployed military personnel. Numerous achievements and accolades were awarded to the 27th Supply Squadron while under his leadership. He spent the majority of his military career at Cannon Air Force Base in Clovis, NM where he retired as a Master Sergeant.

Mark’s passion for mechanics and countless hours spent tinkering in his shop led him to find a new job after retirement. He worked as the Interlocken technician, boat mechanic and office manager at Prince Marine for ten years.

Mark is survived by his wife of thirty-six years, Mrs. Denny Wymore and three daughters; Jessica Dawson, Kelsey Blanco, and Alicia Walter, along with their spouses and children. He is also survived by his mother, Mrs. Virginia Wymore, his brother Raymond Wymore and sister, Teresa Wymore. He was preceded in death by his father, Mr. Edward Wymore and his brother Robert Wymore.

Mark always was a big man, with a big heart. He loved hard, and befriended every person he met. With a head full of wondrous ideas, dashing blue eyes and wicked smile; he never met a stranger. Although he held many titles in his life, the one he cherished most was being called “Poppie”. The Wymore family would like to thank the community of Clovis and friends and family from across the country for their outpouring of love and support at the loss of our beloved father, husband, uncle, and friend. An intimate memorial service will be held at a later date.
