Vicente Hernandez

Funeral services for Vicente Hernandez, 70, of Portales will be held at 2:00 PM, Fri., May 6, 2022 at La Iglesia Evangelica de Dios with Pastor Raymond Carillo officiating.  Burial will follow in the Portales Cemetery with Nico Lavalle, Steven Chavez, Samuel Trevizo, Jose Lavalle, Sergio Hernandez and Angel Rivera serving as pallbearers.

Vicente Hernandez was born Dec. 28 1951 in Ojinaga, Mexico to the home of Refulgia (Dominguez) and Anrique Hernandez, and died at his home in Portales on May 2, 2022.  Mr. Hernandez came to the Dora community in 1993, and did ranch work in the area for a number of years.  He enjoyed playing his guitar, and often play for church where he served as a deacon.  On occasion he also played the drums for services.  Mr. Hernandez faithfully read his Bible.  In June 1973 in Las Conchas, Mexico he was married to Bianca Carrasco.

He is survived by his wife, Bianca of the home; a son and daughter-in-law, Sergio and Maria Hernandez of Hobbs, NM; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Alicia and Samuel Trevizo, Juan and Jose Lavalle and Lucila Renteria all of Portales; 15 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Pilar Rivera of Hobbs, NM, Oscar Hernandez of Ojinaga, Mexico and Clemente Rivera of Lovington, NM; and a sister, Benita Hernandez of Sonora, TX.  He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Aristel Hernandez and Concepcion Hernandez and a grandchild.
