Virginia Ann (Sellers) Barnett

Virginia Ann (Sellers) Barnett, 74, was born on November 5, 1948, in Belton, Texas, to the home of Helen (Cothren) and J.W. Sellers, and entered heaven's gate on May 25, 2023.

Virginia grew up in Belton, Texas, and attended school there.  She started a farm and enjoyed raising cows, horses, goats, and chickens.  She was a volunteer firefighter for a period of time in Moffett, Texas.  She loved camping and fishing and was an avid collector of elephants.  She loved spending time with her grandkids.  Virginia moved to Portales in March 2023, to be close to her daughter.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her step dad, Dave Livingston; a daughter, Altaira “Teri Jo” Barnett in March 2019; a brother, David Delmer Livingston; a sister, Elaine Gray; her first husband Homer Stanley Barnett on January 1, 2012, and her second husband Walter Eugene Heard on February 5, 2016.

Virginia is survived by her son, David Barnett of Moody, Texas; a daughter, Rebecca “Becky” Barnett of Portales; five grandchildren, Brandon, Perry and Kalonnie Nunn of Portales, Justin Barnett of Belton, Texas and Ashley Knott of Galliano, Louisiana; three great grandchildren, Jayden Knott, Colton and Raliegh Barnett; sisters, Marva Hurst, Mae Livingston and Susie Stevens, and numerous nieces and nephews.
