A funeral service for William Andrew Zagorski, 43, of Portales, will be held at 10:00 A.M., Monday, July 14, 2025, in the Wheeler Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Rick Wilcher officiating. Burial will follow in the Portales Cemetery.
William Andrew Zagorski known by most people as Andy was born on June 4, 1982, in Portales, New Mexico, to the home of Lisa Louise (Smith) and William Michael Zagorski and passed away on July 10, 2025, in Amarillo, Texas.
Andy grew up in Portales and attended Portales Schools. He served in the United States Army for four years. He served a tour in Iraq and received a Purple Heart Medal. After serving in the Army, Andy worked at the Roosevelt County Detention Center for a couple of years. He currently worked for Respond transporting money for banks in the Portales and Clovis area and has been there since 2007.
Andy’s daughter Paisley was the most important thing in his life. He enjoyed riding horses with her and they loved to travel different places. He was a very kind and outgoing person and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Andy is survived by his daughter, Paisley Zagorski of Portales; his mother & step father, Lisa Smith & Fred Smith of Portales; his father, Mick Zagorski of Dunkirk, NY; his half-sister, Miranda Zagorski of Dunkirk, NY; his grandparents, Don & Donna Smith of Humble, TX; his grandmother, Annette Fletcher of Tampa,FL, and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
