Xavier Godd Lujan

The Rosary for Xavier Lujan, 16, of Portales will be recited at 9:00 AM, Wed. April 16, 2025 at St. Helen Catholic Church.  A memorial Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated by Fr. Francisco Carbajal at 10:00 AM.  All of the Portales Rams will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Xavier Godd Lujan was born Aug. 17, 2008 in Clovis to the home of Brenda Karla (Mares) and Mariano Faustin Lujan, and passed from this life on Sunday morning, Mar. 30, 2025 near Santa Rosa, NM as the result of an automobile accident.

Xavier has lived his entire lifetime in Portales, and attended Portales Public Schools.  Currently, he was a Junior at Portales High School where he was on the track team, the football team and the power lifting team.  In addition, he loved to play golf.

Xavier loved hanging out with his many friends, listening to music, and playing Need For Speed.  He was very outgoing and friendly, and impacted many lives with his infectious smile and funny ways.  He was currently studying Catechism under Fr. Francisco Carbajal at St. Helen Catholic Community.

Xavier is survived by his parents, Brenda and Mariano Lujan; three brothers, Nano, J. J., and Joseph Lujan and a sister, Abri Lujan all of the family home; his paternal grandparents, Joseph and Esther Lujan of Portales; and his aunts and uncles, Pearl Barela, Jerry Mares and Joseph Lujan, Jr. all of Clovis.  He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, John and Tillie Mares and  aunts Helen Lujan and Joann Mares and uncle Lloyd Mares.
